Dr. Herrera graduated from Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC) in 2012 and received a Doctor in Dental Surgery (DDS) degree, after getting his degree he opened a private practice dedicated to general dentistry.

Because of his passion for surgery and after opening his dental practice he decided to start a Residency for Implant Dentistry in IADI located in Boston, MA. and finished residency in San Diego, CA. Since graduating from the 1st generation of IADI he returned to his private practice and limited to perform only dental implants surgery and periodontal surgery.

How it works?

The treatment will be divided in to visits separated one from the other between 2 – 3 months depending on the condition of the bone available to place the implants and the strength of the bone at the time of placing the implants.

Day 1 Treatment plan, evaluation and records

Patients come in for evaluation, check up and treatment plan. It is recommended to bring a CT SCAN to the appointment if you do not have one already we will provide you with the address from a local Xray lab that will email us the CT SCAN to review at the appointment.

We will take digital records of the current state of the mouth to start planning the temporary prosthesis.

After the records had been taken, the prescription will be explained to patient and recommendations for the day prior to the surgery and
instructions for sedation will be given.
If needed lab works will need to be requested for the day of the surgery.

Please let us know about the medications you regularly take so we can advice you on them for the day of the surgery and don’t stop taking them
unless you have been told.
The CT scan will be reviewed to know quantity and quality of the bone to place the implants. This is usually done in day one.

Day 2 Day of the surgery

The day of surgery to place the implants will be performed during the morning.

This day will be a long day, please wear comfortable clothes. We will be working for about 3 or 4 hours to place the implant take impressions of those implants to deliver the temporary for you.

An anesthesiologist will be contacted to provide IV sedation for your treatment this with goal of making you feel comfortable with the procedure and to have a better recovery.

Day 3. Temporary teeth delivery

On this day the set of temporary teeth will be delivered as well as a post op evaluation to ensure the healing process is starting.

Day 4 Final check up

This day will be just a final check up to see how everything is healing, if any sutures could be removed already, or to finish clearing questions about the procedure.

4 to 5 months later

Your second visit, this visit consist of 2 days and it will be planned after 4 or 5 months since the installment of implants and temporary dentures.
At this appointment we will remove the temporary denture or prosthesis to evaluate the condition of the implants inside your bone and the tissue underneath the temporary .

At the appointment a proper clinical and radiographic evaluation of the mplants and tissue will be done. Then we will take a new digital record (Scan) of the current condition of your mouth. This with the goal of having the true final condition of your guas so we can go ahead and mill the final restoration.

After the records have been taken we will re place the temporary denture on your implants and a a 3rd and last appointment will be planned.

4 to 6 weeks later

The 3rd and last visit consist on delivering the Final Fixed Prosthesis to the patient and adjusting the bite or gingival contour of the gum.

It also consist on giving instructions to the patient about proper maintenance of the prosthesis and what extra care can be given to the prosthesis at Home with the use of proper installments or devices.

For this visit we ask our patients to stay for about 2 – 3 days to make sure any problem can be solved before your departure.

For our patient commodity we have paired with a 3rd company for many years that offers the transportation services.

- From San Diego to Tijuana Round trip (140 dlls round trip)

The company will pick you up at San Diego (US Side) could be the airport or any other location in San Diego, will bring you down safely to Tijuana and when you are ready to go back home they will take you across the border to your chosen destination.

- Pick up From the border (20 dlls per trip)

This pick up service will provide you safe and easy transportation from the Border in Mexico side to our dental office and will bring you back to the border when you are are ready to go home.
